About Jailbreak

What is JailBreak 2009?

The idea behind JailBreak 2009 is simple…

No money
36 Hours
How far can you go?

JailBreak is an opportunity to do something truly different and memorable, relying on nothing but your wits, your powers of persuasion, and your charm. The possibilities are endless. Teams entering similar events have travelled as far as Vancouver, New York, Alicante and Warsaw. How far can you go?

Teams of between two and four members will register at Avoncroft Museum on 7 March 2009, and then be ‘locked away’ in the Victorian jail ready to be released at 12 noon. You will then have 36 hours to get as far away from the site as possible without spending any money on transport. At midnight GMT on Sunday, time is up and you must prove where you are (see Instructions for the Day) and contact the JailBreak organisers. Once you have made telephone contact with base, you may begin your journey home. Prizes will be awarded to the teams who have travelled the furthest.

Entrance into the competition is £15 per person, to cover administrative costs. In addition, please ask your family and friends to sponsor you. You can find tips for raising sponsorship in the info pack.

If you would like to take part in the event simply visit our Get Involved page, where you can download an info pack or register online.
